Spookey Ruben is a Toronto-based musician, composer and video director. He has been creating short video stories going by the name 'Spookey Ruben's Dizzy Playground'. Melissa features in the latest episode, 'Cavity Central'. The episode also contains music from MAdM's new EP, '...This Would Be Paradise'. According to Ruben, "you really need to have watched at least the first 3 prior episodes to 'get' this one!"

Melissa is at Sundance to screen OOOM, and the festival is well underway. OOOM's premiere screening was last saturday, and there's two screenings still to come! Some articles have popped up, and I added two of them to the articles archive.

"I've always lived in the ephemeral, psychedelic heart world to the point where I wasn't able to have a cat, a stable home or a stable relationship. Now, after this three-year journey, I've learned how to take care of a cat, pay my bills, be my own manager, and be organized, so I can make something out of all these dreams that I have."

"There is, of course, something to be said about craft," she continues. "A writer has to write for thousands of hours, has to do it every day, to be good – it's the same thing with being a musician," she points out. "I couldn't wake up tomorrow and be a painter, but if I were to decide to devote three years to studying how my hand moves on canvas..."

As you see, some things have changed around here! I made a new design to celebrate this site's transition into running archive instead of focusing on news, and ofcourse to emphasise Melissa's new music.

In case you missed it, Melissa released a 3-song EP with new music, as a forebode to her new album, to be released early next year. All this is being done without the support of a record label.
